SHAPE

This week in Mathematics we have been looking at Shape. We have been focusing on 3D shapes and how they are used in many different ways. We begun the week looking at the different types of 3D shapes, including nets, faces, vertices and edges associated to each 3D shape. Next we took our learning outside and explored all the 3D shapes that make up our school. From this we then created a Presentation using Google Presentation to show how 3D shapes are all around us.
Take a look below at the fantastic learning that has occurred in our class about Shape.

Questions:

  • What is one interesting fact you have learnt about 3D shapes?
  • What 3D shape is our school mainly made up of?
  • What do you think of everyone’s presentations? Make sure you leave some feedback for others.

Cartesian Planes

Today in 6EK learnt about Cartesian Planes.

Cartesian coordinates can be used to pinpoint where you are on a map or graph.

Students worked in pairs to create their own Cartesian Plane with questions to ask others.

Below are some links to some online games related to Cartesian Planes.

 Questions:

  • What did you learn about Cartesian Planes?
  • If someone else was learning about Cartesian Planes what is one tip you have for them?
  • What have you liked most about learning about Cartesian Planes?
