Alex 100WC – Week 30

The floorboards creaked and groaned as I hobbled through the run down house. My eyes strayed to the thick layers of dust that covered the cracked tables and the black and white photos of a cheerful smiling family. The rain pounded on the rusted tin roof and leaked through holes in the ceiling making the carpet wet, moldy and miserable. The cut in my leg oozed warm blood down tatted pants. I walked to the kitchen and when I opened the cupboard door it was empty, not a single painkiller, stale old dry biscuit or can of baked beans. As I sat down the door shot open…

  1. What a great entry, Alex, You successfully create a picture in my mind which is full suspense and drama. I love the verbs and adjectives you use; but a word of warning – sometimes less is more.
